Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. A Wedding Tradition is owned and operated by myself, Cheryl Sharpes.  It is a small business created out of necessity.  Here is the background to how A Wedding Tradition got started.

I was a stay at home mom and loved every moment of it.  When the kids were grown I decided it was time to get a job again. After working for a few months, I noticed it was getting hard for me to move. As time went on I slowly started to lose my ability to even go up stairs and dress myself. After seeing the doctor, I discovered I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Working outside the home had become an impossibility.

You might have heard once or twice the saying, "When God Closes a Door, He Opens a Window". I am a strong believer in just that. After many trials on different meds, and thanks to Dr. Lomeo and her staff,  I am glad to say I have found a great medical cocktail. Hooray for mobility and pain free days!  I found I still couldn't work outside the home but thought there has to be something I can do.

The idea came to me when I revalued my life. I knew that my family was the most important thing in my life. Secondly my family got started the day I married my husband. I remembered my friend gave me a coin she used when she married to put in my shoe. She said it was good luck and would bring to me and my husband happiness and good fortune.  I did use it, then passed it to my sister Nancy. I will have my 28th and Nancy will have her 23rd wedding anniversary in 2011.

I thought there must be something to this coin thing. So I got busy on this adventure. Well everything else just started out of my love for Vintage Weddings. I hope you enjoy my site.
