Victorian Cake & Pastry Design

Victorian Era was during the Reign of Queen Victoria from 1837 to 1901.

Victorian Cake and Pastry design were amongst the very best. Very few pastry Chefs  can make these elaborate cakes today. Just thinking of the time that had to go into so many of these wonderful cakes is mind boggling. They did not have the tools or molds that are used today in cake decorating. They had to have had the steadiest of hands and patience to have created such magnificent pieces. Below are a few designs of cakes and pastries. Hope you enjoy.

Below Illustrations are from the book: Ornamental Confectionery and Practical Assistant to the Art of Baking 1893 to View full  book online  This book is very interesting.
